Donald Robert Welton was born in San Diego, Ca on May 28th, 1959. He died on February 24th 2010. Don graduated from Hyrum Johnson High School in 1977. In 1980, he married Mary Loretta Edlund and together they raised three daughters. He worked for American River Hospital as a custodial operating room assistant, then was a delivery driver for Meals On Wheels delivering food to needy elderly for many years. Don was active in the LDS church having served a two year mission in Wisconsin where he developed a love for the church as well as for the Green Bay Packers. Through the years, he has served in many church positions. He prided himself on finding deals, finding many bargains (especially automobiles). He was a great handyman and landscaper, working on many of his neighbors yards. Don is survived by his wife "Lori" of 29 years, daughters Melissa (Shawn) Stewart, Sarah (Todd) Christensen and Kira Welton, five granddaughters, Jewely, Mya, IIyana, Shayna and Katelyn, six brothers and one sister, Dave (Ruth), Ken (Carolyn), Walt (Shirley), Dan (Pat), Russell, Glenn (Jeannie), Rebecca (Gary) Crowther, and Larry (Barbara). He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Kagome Chihiro Hinata Stewart, his mother, Anna Nadine Gomm and his father Walter William, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1101 51st street, Sacramento on Saturday, March 6th 2010 at 11:00am. There will be a viewing prior at 10am.
